FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a razor, comprising: - a handle provided with a reservoir to hold the liquid, - a treatment device provided with at least one shaving element, the treatment device of which is articulated in relation to the handle, and a fluid channel extending from the reservoir to an outlet opening at least close to the treatment device, in which at least part of the fluid channel is elastically deformable in the closed position, in which passage through the fluid channel it is closed, to an open position, in which the passage through the fluid channel is opened, by rotating the handle of the treatment device from a resting position to an activated position, and vice versa. HISTORY OF THE INVENTION
In this razor, known from W02008 / 152601, the treatment device comprises a razor cartridge with elements of the razor. Between the treatment device and the reservoir, an adapter neck is located, which is provided with a pump. The pump is activated by a pivoting movement of the adapter neck to pump the fluid like a shaving soap, shaving cream or shaving gel etc. from the reservoir through the fluid channel to the outlet opening in the shaving cartridge.
The use of the shaving fluid applied during shaving improves shaving performance. However, a disadvantage of the known shaver is that there is a need for a pump to control the transport of fluid from the reservoir to the outlet opening.
A shaving device of the type mentioned in the opening paragraph is known from FR2634154A1. In the known shaving device, a fixing element is provided by means of which the elastically deformable part of the fluid channel can be closed and opened. The fixing member is mechanically coupled to the pivoting treatment device in such a way that the fixing member closes the fluid channel when the treatment device is in its resting position, and the fixing member opens the fluid channel when the device of treatment is in its active position. The fixation member is spring loaded, so that the treatment device returns to the rest position and the fixation member closes the fluid channel when no forces are applied to the treatment device.
A shaving device of the type mentioned in the opening paragraph is also known from US20050123342A1. In this known cutting device, a resiliently flexible tube is disposed between a shaving cartridge and a pressurized fluid reservoir. A spring is provided, which is inclined to act against said tube to compress the tube in the closed position. The shaving cartridge is mounted on a part of the end of an articulation arm, which engages the spring, by means of a projection provided on its other end. When the shaving cartridge comes into contact with the skin, the shaving cartridge will be moved into an opening in a shaver head assembly. As a result of the shaving cartridge movement, the pivot arm will be rotated and the spring will be deformed so that the tube is opened to allow fluid to flow from the fluid reservoir to the shaving cartridge. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of the invention to provide a shaving device, in which the flow of fluid through the fluid channel can be easily controlled.
This object is achieved by the shaving device according to the invention, in which the treatment device and the cable are connected to each other by an elastic hinge, the elastically deformable part of the fluid channel located in the elastic hinge.
If no external force is applied to the elastic hinge, the shaving system is in the rest position, in which the fluid channel is closed. By deforming said part of the fluid channel, for example, opposite walls of the fluid channel in said part are moved in and out of each other, as a result of which the size of the passage in the elastically deformable part of the fluid channel is changed. The amount of fluid that can flow through the fluid channel depends on the size of the passage. If the passage is closed, the fluid will not come out of the outlet opening. If the user places the treatment device on the skin to start shaving, he can rotate the treatment device handle from the resting position to the active position, in which, in the latter position, the passage in the elastically deformable part is open and fluid. will flow from the reservoir to the outlet opening. In addition, the use of a fluid channel that is at least partially elastically deformable to close and open the passage in the fluid channel of the reservoir to the outlet opening reduces fluid clogging in the fluid channel.
An embodiment of the shaving device according to the invention is characterized in that the handle is pivotable in relation to the treatment device from the resting position to the active position against a spring force.
Due to the force of the spring, the shaver will automatically return to the resting position if external forces are not applied to the shaver. In the resting position, no fluid will come out of the outlet.
When applying a force on the cutting device, which is large enough to overcome the spring force, the cable will be rotated in the treatment device, and the passage through the fluid channel will gradually change from the closed to the open position.
Another embodiment of the shaver, according to the invention, is characterized in that the spring force is provided by the elastic hinge. The elastic hinge can easily provide a desired spring force, such that, in operation, a person can overcome the spring force to open the fluid channel and control the amount of fluid being expelled from the outlet opening.
Another embodiment of the shaving device according to the invention is characterized in that the handle is articulated in relation to the treatment device in the resting position to an intermediate position, in which, in the latter position, the passage in the fluid channel is partially open.
In the intermediate position, the flow of fluid through the passage and the outlet opening will be less than in the fully open position. In this way, the user can change the fluid flow as desired.
A further embodiment of the shaving device according to the invention is characterized in that the outlet opening of the fluid channel is located on the elastic hinge.
The fluid will come out of the shaver on the elastic hinge. This makes it possible to obtain a relatively short distance between the reservoir and the outlet opening. If the treatment device can be disconnected from the elastic hinge to be replaced, no fluid will be lost. Depending on the direction of movement of the treatment device over the body, the fluid will be applied over the body before or after the treatment device is passed through the body.
However, a further embodiment of the shaving device according to the invention is characterized in that the outlet opening of the fluid channel is located in the treatment device.
Since the outlet opening is located in the treatment device, the distance between the outlet opening and the shaver element in the treatment device is relatively small. Thus, the fluid will be applied to the body immediately before or after shaving. In addition, by providing the outlet opening in the treatment device, the size of the outlet opening can be chosen regardless of the size of the elastic hinge.
Another embodiment of the razor, according to the invention, is characterized in that the reservoir is flexible, in which the reservoir is pressurized by a spring located on the handle.
Once the reservoir is pressurized by the spring, the fluid will be expelled from the flexible reservoir into the fluid channel, as soon as the fluid channel is opened.
Another embodiment of the razor according to the invention is characterized in that the handle and the treatment device can be locked in the resting position.
When locking the cable and the treatment device in the rest position, the fluid channel will remain in the closed position, in which no fluid can escape from the outlet opening. In this way, the user can still use the treatment device, but without applying the fluid, for example, as he realizes that enough fluid has been applied to the skin. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings, in which, Fig. 1 is a schematic transverse shave of a first embodiment of a razor, according to the invention, Figs. 2A-2C are cross sections of a part of the razor, as shown in Fig. 1, showing the fluid channel in the closed position, an intermediate position and the open position, respectively. Fig. 3 is a schematic cross section of a second embodiment of a razor according to the invention, Figs. 4A-4C are cross sections of a part of the razor, as shown in Fig. 3, showing the fluid channel in the closed position, an intermediate position and the open position, respectively.
Similar parts are indicated by the same reference numbers in the Figures. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ACHIEVEMENTS
Figs. 1 and 2A-2C show cross sections of a first embodiment of a razor, comprising 1 handle 2, an elastic hinge 3 and a shaving cartridge 4 forming a treatment device. The shaving cartridge 4 is articulated in relation to the handle 2 by the elastic hinge 3. The shaving cartridge 4 is provided with elements of the shaver 5, such as blades.
The handle 2 is provided with a reservoir 6 to retain the fluid, as a fluid to reduce friction between the skin and a person and the shaving elements 5.
A fluid channel 7 extends from the reservoir 6, through the elastic hinge 3, to an outlet opening 8 in the shaving cartridge 4. The outlet opening 8 is located on one side of the shaving elements 5, away from the hinge elastic 3. The fluid channel part 7 in the elastic hinge 3 is elastically deformable, due to the elasticity of the elastic hinge material 3. In the position of the elastic hinge 3, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2A, opposite walls 9, 10 of the fluid channel 7 in the elastic hinge 3 are located against each other, and the passage through the fluid channel 7 is closed. In this resting position, no external force is applied to the shaver 1.
Reservoir 6 is made of a flexible deformable material. Reservoir 6 is pressurized by a preloaded spring 11 located on one side of reservoir 6 remote from the fluid channel 7. The fluid located in reservoir 6 is pressed into the fluid channel 7 due to the force F exerted on reservoir 6 by the spring 11. However, the fluid is prevented from flowing out of the outlet opening 8, since the walls 9, 10 of the fluid channel 7 are located against each other, thus blocking the passage of the fluid through the hinge elastic 3.
The handle 2 can be pivoted in relation to the shaving cartridge 4 against the spring force of the elastic hinge 3 on a pivot axis 12, in the direction as indicated by the arrow Pl. Due to the pivoting movement, the fluid channel 7 is bent , through which the opposite walls 9, 10 are spaced apart and the passage is opened. The passage size is determined by the distance between the opposite walls 9, 10, which depends on the volume of curvature of the fluid channel 7.
In the position as shown in Fig. 2A, parts of the fluid channel 7 located on both sides of the pivot shaft 12 extend at an angle of 0 ° to each other. In this position, the passage through the fluid channel 7 is closed and the razor 1 is in the resting position.
In the position as shown in Fig. 2B, the cable 2 is pivoted about the pivot axis 12 through an angle βl due to which the fluid channel 7 is tilted and opened. The articulation movement is obtained by placing the shaving cartridge 4 on a person's skin, and applying force on the handle 2 in the direction indicated by the PI arrow. The parts of the fluid channel 7 located on both sides of the pivot axis 12 extend at an angle of "i with respect to the other, where OII <" o. In this activated intermediate position of the razor 1, the passage through the fluid channel 7 is partially opened and the fluid in the fluid channel 7 will flow in the direction indicated by the arrow P2.
In the position as shown in Fig. 2C, the cable 2 is articulated on the articulation axis 12 through an angle β2, where β2 <βi. The parts of the fluid channel 7 located on both sides of the pivot axis 12 extend at an angle of α2 with respect to the other, where a2 <«i <« o- In this activated position of the razor, the fluid channel 7 is in the open position and the passage through the fluid channel 7 is fully open.
Figs. 3 and 4A-4C show cross sections of a second embodiment of a shaving device 21, comprising a handle 2, an elastic hinge 23 and a shaving cartridge 24, forming a treatment device. The shaving cartridge 24 is articulated with respect to the handle 2 by the elastic hinge 23. The handle 2 is provided with a reservoir 6 to retain the fluid. A fluid channel 7 extends from reservoir 6 to an outlet opening 28 on the elastic hinge 23. In the position of the elastic hinge 23, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4A, opposite walls 29, 30 of the fluid channel 7 in the elastic hinge 23 are located against each other and the passage through the fluid channel 7 is closed. In this position, no external force is applied to the razor 21.
The passage through the fluid channel 7 is opened by rotating the handle 2 in relation to the shaving cartridge 24 against a spring force of the elastic hinge 3 on a pivot axis 32 in the elastic hinge 23 in the direction indicated by the arrow Pl. articulation can be obtained by placing the shaving cartridge 24 on a person's skin and applying force on the handle 2 in the direction indicated by the arrow Pl. Due to the articulation movement, the fluid channel 7 on the elastic hinge 23 is elastically deformed, whereby the opposing walls 29, 30 are spaced apart and the passageway is opened. The size of the passage is determined by the distance between the opposite walls 29, 30.
In the position as shown in Fig. 4A, the shaving cartridge 24 and the fluid channel part 7 between the pivot shaft 23 and the reservoir 6 extend at an angle of o to each other. In this position, the passage through the fluid channel 7 between the hinge shaft 32 and the outlet opening 28 is closed.
In the position as shown in fig. 4B, the cable 2 is pivoted about the pivot axis 32 through an angle E1 because the part of the fluid channel 7 in the elastic hinge 3 is elastically deformed, whereby the walls 29, 30 are spaced apart. The shaving cartridge 24 and the fluid channel part 7 between the pivot shaft 23 and the reservoir 6 extend at an angle of «i with respect to the other, where« i <«o- In this intermediate position, the passage through the fluid channel 7 is partially open and small drops 40 of the fluid will flow out of the outlet opening 28.
In the position as shown in fig. 4C, the cable 2 is articulated on the articulation axis 32 through an angle β2, where S2 <βl. The shaving cartridge 24 and part of the fluid channel 7 between the pivot shaft 23 and the reservoir 6 extend at an angle of ot2 with respect to the other, where a2 <«i <a0. In this open position, the passage through the fluid channel 7 is completely open, and larger drops 41 of fluid will flow out of the outlet opening 28.
Although the invention has been illustrated and described in detail in the drawings and in the previous description, such illustration and description should be considered illustrative or exemplary, and not restrictive; the invention is not limited to the disclosed achievements. J For example, it is possible for the shaving cartridge to be connected disposable to the elastic hinge 3, 23 which allows replacement when the shaving elements 5 are blunt.
Other variations to the disclosed embodiments can be understood and carried out by those skilled in the art of the claimed invention, from a study of the drawings, the disclosure and the attached claims. In the claims, the word "understand" does not exclude other elements or steps, and the indefinite article "one" or "one" does not exclude a plurality.
